26/01/2011: Cambridgeshire couple to run 2011 London Marathon in aid of Women and Children First

Meet Hannah and James Hodgson.  Here they are preparing for (yet another) early morning training run.  And it's just as well, given that on April 17 2011 they will be running 26.2 miles.

Parents of five children, Hannah and James greatly appreciate the ante and post natal care and support they have received from the NHS.  They want to raise money to increase the availability of care to women and children in less developed countries.

All the staff and trustees at Women and Children First wish Hannah and James the very best of luck, both in fitting their training around their parenting and for the Big Day!

Saving Lives

Up to half a million women and three million newborn babies die each year in pregnancy and childbirth or soon afterwards, the majority of them in Africa and South Asia. For every woman who dies at least twenty more suffer complications which leave them with lifelong disability and pain.

Our unique programmes are saving the lives of mothers and babies every day. We need you to help us to equip women with their most vital survival tool: knowledge.
