January 2011 - Reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health advocates met in early 2011 to discuss DFIDs newly release Framework for Results on Reproductive, Maternal and Newborn Health, current organisational priorities and to plan collaborative work over 2011 and beyond. The adviser to the All Party Parliamentary Group on Population, Development and Reproductive Health attended to advise the group on MP briefing work throughout the year.
August 2010 - A working group of advocates met during the summer to begin developing the Manifesto for Motherhood coalition submission into DFIDs reproductive, maternal and newborn health business plan consultation.
May 2010 - The aim of this meeting was to prioritise advocacy action following the general election. A First One Hundred Days in Parliament document was produced synthesising the maternal, newborn and child health advocacy asks from the Manifesto for Motherhood, to establish cross party support.
November 2009 - This meeting identified ways in which UK maternal, newborn and child health advocates could work together in a more strategic and focussed way, in particular to agree and formalise the asks and messaging in the Manifesto for Motherhood.
September 2009 - This meeting focused on identifying how UK maternal, newborn and child health advocates could work together in a more strategic and focused way. This involved developing a joint advocacy strategy and policy asks to maximise key opportunities in the run up to the general election.
April 2009 - The aim of this meeting was to identify ways in which UK maternal, newborn and child health advocates could work together in a more strategic and focused way throughout 2009. This involved prioritising joint maternal, newborn and child health asks and messages.
December 2008 - This meeting focused on assessing MDG 4 & 5 relevant outcomes from high level events in 2008; identifying joint MDG 4 & 5 advocacy goals and objectives; identifying key maternal, newborn and child health targets and ‘influentials’, important advocacy opportunities in 2009; and the development of a UK advocacy plan for MDGs 4 & 5.
