Women and Children First's Programme Resources
Women and Children First works with its partners to produce effective educational materials and deliver training to facilitate our community interventions. We work in close collaboration with all partners from grassroots community groups to senior healthcare providers, to identify needs and develop materials in local languages to help meet these needs. We rigorously evaluate each resource to ensure that it is effective, and obtain government approval, if required, for its use before implementation. We have produced materials for both the community and health services.
Women's Group Facilitation Manuals:
Women and Children First trains local women from rural communities to facilitate women’s groups. The facilitators are provided with a tailored manual to help them implement the women’s groups.
Picture Card Game:
This game is used in the women’s groups and uses pictures (drawn by local artists) depicting certain health scenarios to help pregnant mothers learn about appropriate healthcare practices, including when to seek professional care to ensure a safe delivery.
Training Manuals:
Women and Children First has assisted in producing various training manuals in safe motherhood and essential newborn care for doctors, nurses, midwives and community health workers. We also ensure that our training is sustainable and have developed manuals for training master trainers.
