Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Advocacy Strategy Meeting (September 2009)

The aim of this meeting was to identify ways in which UK MNCH advocates can work together in a more strategic and focussed way. This involved agreeing joint asks to form the basis of a maternal, newborn and child health advocates’ manifesto and policy paper as well as developing a lobby strategy around key opportunities in the run up to the general election.

The aim of this meeting was to identify ways in which UK MNCH advocates can work together in a more strategic and focussed way. This involved deciding which issues to prioritise for joint maternal, newborn and child health work and developing concrete plans.

Joint UK MDG 4 & 5 Advocacy Strategy Consultation (December 2008)

The aim of the consultation was to discuss coordinated UK advocacy for maternal, newborn and child health. The consultation objective was to coordinate UK MDG 4&5 advocacy efforts and start developing a joint MDG 4&5 strategy and timeframe for advocacy action in 2009 and beyond. The specific focus of the meeting was an assessment of MDG 4 & 5 relevant outcomes from high level events in 2008; an exploration of ways to work together and identification of possible joint MDG 4 & 5 advocacy goals and objectives; the identification of key MNCH targets and ‘influentials’, the identification of important opportunities for MDG 4 & 5 advocacy in 2009; the development of a UK advocacy plan for MDGs 4 & 5.
