An estimated four million babies every year die before they are one month old.

Women and Children First (WCF) improves the health and welfare of women and children in poor communities, with a particular focus on pregnancy and the first month of life.

WCF ensures that women have a say in the decisions that influence their health. We achieve this through the formation of women’s groups, who work together to prioritise maternal and newborn health problems and identify low-cost solutions. Read more

We work with local healthcare providers to strengthen skills in essential newborn care by training all levels of staff, plus training the trainers. Read more

WCF currently works in Bangladesh, India and Malawi, and has previously worked in Nepal.
