Meet the people who work at Women and Children First to help support rural and remote communities worldwide.

Beth Silver
Chief Executive
 

Beth has a legal and governance background in the commercial and charity sectors, as well as ten years’ experience of non-profit trustee roles. She is currently Vice-Chair of Governors at a local primary school.

Beth has a first-class master’s degree in Global Health from Kings College London. She completed a dissertation on the impact of the community health group approach, known as PLA.

Joanna Drazdzewska
Head of Programmes
and Advocacy

Jo has significant experience in implementing reproductive health programmes in developing countries. Her focus is on increasing demand for health services, reducing gender inequality, and advocating for accessible quality care.

Jo holds a Masters degree in Development Studies from SOAS. She also provides technical advice and management of our grants.

Mark Mina
Head of Fundraising and Communications

Mark has over 15 years’ experience with charities, supporting them with their fundraising, communications and research needs. 

He is passionate about the cause, building relationships and partnerships with supporters, and planning and implementing strategies and approaches. He champions our amazing supporters, who enable us to undertake our vital work.

Annemijn Sondaal
Programmes Manager

Annemijn’s key interest and expertise is in using community-based approaches to develop sustainable health projects within developing countries. She has a Masters degree in Global Health and Development.

She provides technical advice on the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of community-based approaches.

Mica Lam
Programmes Officer

Mica’s expertise is in operational programme management and delivery.

She has experience in Tanzania of community-based water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), and natural resource management projects, as well as youth-led conservation in the UK.

Mica advocates for achieving gender equality and supporting women’s health and human rights in marginalised communities.

Lisa Ivanova
Fundraising Officer

Lisa’s experience is in fundraising for charitable causes overseas and in the UK. Holding a master’s degree in Global Migration from UCL, Lisa is passionate about social justice and equal access to healthcare worldwide.

Lisa’s enthusiastic about open and transparent communication between donors and grantees and is always up for a conversation.
